AajKya ("we", "our", or "us") is a meal-planning app built for Indian households. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

Email address — collected when you sign in with Google, used to authenticate and secure your account (processed by Firebase Authentication).
Physical details — age, gender, height, weight, and activity level — provided during onboarding to calculate personalised nutrition targets.
Meal preferences — diet type (veg/non-veg), cuisine preferences, and primary health goal — used to generate your meal plans.
Family information — family name and invite code — used to enable shared meal planning within a household.

2. How We Use Your Data

Authenticate your identity and secure your account.
Generate personalised weekly meal plans and nutrition recommendations.
Calculate BMR, TDEE, and daily calorie targets based on your physical profile.
Enable family members to share a common meal plan.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on our servers and transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Access to your account is protected by JWT-based authentication with automatic token refresh.

We do not store your Google password or Firebase credentials — sign-in is handled entirely by Firebase Authentication, which is governed by Google's privacy policy.

4. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties. The external services we use are Firebase Authentication (by Google) for Google Sign-In, and Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (by Google) for understanding usage and diagnosing crashes.

5. Analytics and Diagnostics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand general app usage patterns (e.g., which screens are visited and features used) and Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash logs and diagnostic information to improve app stability. This data is used in aggregate to improve the app.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time — see our Account Deletion page or use Profile → Delete Account in the app. We process deletion requests within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

AajKya is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
